    Meet Dr Zain Battikhi

    Dr Zain Battikhi is an experienced Obstetrician and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist with a passion for providing compassionate, evidence-based care for women with complex and high-risk pregnancies.

    After completing specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Battikhi undertook subspecialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine through South Western Sydney Local Health District. She has also completed advanced training in first trimester screening and fetal cardiac screening at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and continues to pursue special interests in fetal cardiology and prenatal diagnosis.

    Alongside her role at Centre for Women’s Ultrasound, Dr Battikhi holds a public appointment as an Obstetrician and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at Liverpool Hospital, where she is actively involved in the care of women with complex pregnancies and fetal conditions.

    Dr Battikhi’s clinical interests include:

    * Screening and prevention of maternal pre-eclampsia

    * Screening for fetal genetic conditions, cardiac abnormalities and structural anomalies

    * Preterm birth prevention

    * Management of fetal growth restriction

    * Twin pregnancy surveillance and management

    * High-risk pregnancies complicated by underlying maternal medical conditions

    * First trimester screening and fetal cardiac assessment

    Dr Battikhi values the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and enjoys working closely with obstetricians, sonographers, physicians, genetic counsellors and allied health professionals to optimise outcomes for mothers and their babies.

    In addition to her clinical work, Dr Battikhi is actively involved in teaching medical students and trainees and has contributed to research in fetal growth restriction, stillbirth and maternal-fetal medicine. She is committed to ongoing education and regularly attends national and international conferences to ensure her patients benefit from the latest advances in prenatal care.

    Outside of medicine, Dr Battikhi and her husband are kept busy by their four young children and the joyful chaos that comes with family life. In her rare moments of free time, she enjoys catching up with friends and savouring a good cup of coffee.

    Dr Battikhi is delighted to be part of the team at Centre for Women’s Ultrasound and is committed to providing personalised, expert care to support women throughout their pregnancy journey.
